Cascadia Evolution

The Freightliner Cascadia Evolution is a heavy-duty Class 8 truck, available in three primary configurations: Day Cab, Mid-Roof XT, and Raised Roof. Commonly used for long-haul, regional, and local freight operations, the Cascadia is a fleet favorite for its efficiency, comfort, and reliability.

In 2018, Freightliner updated the truck’s ergonomic design, utilizing ISRI as the OEM seat supplier. While ISRI remains the primary seat option from the factory, many aftermarket seat manufacturers have modified their mounting systems or provided an adpator to ensure compatibility with the Cascadia.

The new seat bolt pattern changed from the standard 4.65" x 12" to a wider 6" x 12" layout. Thanks to this update, several popular aftermarket seats—such as the National Admiral CT and Commodore—can be installed with an adaptor. The Knoedler Air Chief also mounts directly, requiring no adaptor. For other manufacturers, like Gramag, a dedicated Cascadia adaptor plate is available.

In 2024, Freightliner introduced the Fifth Generation Cascadia, featuring a suite of advanced safety technologies, including a mirror cam system, intelligent LED headlights, active braking, side guard assist, and lane-keeping assist. The seat design remains consistent, still featuring the ISRI model. While some drivers appreciate the OEM comfort, others may prefer an upgrade. Aftermarket options abound—consider the Knoedler Air Chief for a fully customizable seat with diamond stitching, or opt for an active suspension upgrade with the Gramag Smart Ready MR seat.

Always verify seat compatibility with your specific cab, as modifications or unique mounting setups may require an adaptor plate. Installation should be performed by a qualified individual, as proper fitment and safety remain the responsibility of the installer.
