The Peterbilt 579 is a Class 8 aerodynamic conventional truck introduced in 2012, designed primarily for fuel-efficient long-haul and regional freight applications. It combines advanced aerodynamics with driver comfort and modern technology.

The 579 is widely used for:

  • Long-haul trucking (dry van, refrigerated, flatbed)
  • Regional freight
  • Fleet operations focused on fuel economy
  • Owner-operator highway transport

Cab Type

  • Cab Style: Aerodynamic conventional
  • Cab Width: Approximately 2.1 meters (83 inches)
  • Configurations:
    • Day cab
    • Mid-roof sleeper
    • Raised roof sleeper

Aftermarket Seat Compatibility

The Peterbilt 579 uses a wide cab bolt pattern similar to other Peterbilt wide-body trucks: 6" x 12" bolt pattern

Many aftermarket seats fit with either direct bolt-in or with a specific adaptor plate due to the wider bolt pattern

Installation Notes

  • Check for seat height clearance with raised roof sleepers
  • Verify wiring harness compatibility if replacing powered or heated seats
  • Always confirm adaptor use when switching from narrower cab bolt patterns (like the older 4.65" x 12")
