The Peterbilt 579 is a Class 8 aerodynamic conventional truck introduced in 2012, designed primarily for fuel-efficient long-haul and regional freight applications. It combines advanced aerodynamics with driver comfort and modern technology.
The 579 is widely used for:
- Long-haul trucking (dry van, refrigerated, flatbed)
- Regional freight
- Fleet operations focused on fuel economy
- Owner-operator highway transport
Cab Type
- Cab Style: Aerodynamic conventional
- Cab Width: Approximately 2.1 meters (83 inches)
- Configurations:
-

Aftermarket Seat Compatibility
The Peterbilt 579 uses a wide cab bolt pattern similar to other Peterbilt wide-body trucks: 6" x 12" bolt pattern
Many aftermarket seats fit with either direct bolt-in or with a specific adaptor plate due to the wider bolt pattern
Installation Notes
- Check for seat height clearance with raised roof sleepers
- Verify wiring harness compatibility if replacing powered or heated seats
- Always confirm adaptor use when switching from narrower cab bolt patterns (like the older 4.65" x 12")
