The Peterbilt 535 and Peterbilt 536 are part of Peterbilt’s new-generation medium-duty lineup, launched in 2021. They are built on the same redesigned platform and feature the 2.1-meter wide cab, similar to Peterbilt’s larger highway trucks and the Kenworth T180/T280.

• Peterbilt 535: Designed for non-CDL Class 5 applications (GVWR under 26,000 lbs).
• Peterbilt 536: Built for CDL-required Class 6 jobs (GVWR up to 33,000 lbs).

Both trucks offer a modern, aerodynamic design with improved visibility, ergonomics, and driver comfort—ideal for fleet operations and vocational work that values uptime, comfort, and safety.

Cab Type: 2.1-Meter Wide Cab

• Same cab shell used in Peterbilt 567 and Kenworth T280.
• Offers more interior space, wider seats, and highway-style dash ergonomics.
• Available in vocational trim or premium interior, depending on spec.

Aftermarket Seat Compatibility

Because the 535 and 536 use the 2.1m wide cab, they do require a seat adaptor plate for most aftermarket seating. The bolt pattern differs from the traditional 4.68" x 12" vocational standard and aligns more closely with the 6" x 12" wide-body layout used in other 2.1m-cab Peterbilt and Kenworth models.

• National Admiral or Commodore – requires 2.1m adaptor plate for HP suspension
• Knoedler Air Chief – requires 2.1m adaptor plate
• Gramag Smart MR – available with specific adaptor for 2.1m cabs

Installation Notes

• Confirm 2.1m cab by VIN, door label, or spec sheet.
• Use seat-specific adaptors to match bolt pattern and elevation.
• For electric/heated seats, check for power supply availability in-cab.
• Allow room for seat travel; some wide suspension bases may restrict movement against the door or console.
