The Peterbilt 389 is a Class 8 long-hood conventional truck, introduced in 2007 as the successor to the 379. It combines Peterbilt’s classic styling with modern enhancements in safety, fuel economy, and comfort. The 389 has become the flagship model for owner-operators, known for its iconic aluminum hood, polished accents, and customizable options.

The Peterbilt 389 is widely used for:

• No adaptor needed for direct seat replacement
• Note: Knoedler has released an adaptor plate (RR12-PB-000)that allows the occupant to move the seat back in  3, 4, 5 inch increments.  This is a common request that can also be met with plates from Truck Armor or Iowa Customs.
• Unibilt sleepers offer better seat slide and height flexibility compared to earlier rigid-mounted sleepers
• Check for floor risers or insulation that may affect seat height in custom 379 builds
