1999-2010

The Peterbilt 387 is a Class 8 aerodynamic sleeper truck, produced from 2000 to around 2010. It was Peterbilt’s first full "wide-body" aerodynamic model and was developed alongside the Kenworth T2000 to maximize fuel economy and driver comfort in long-haul applications. The 387 was later succeeded by the Peterbilt 587.

The Peterbilt 387 was designed primarily for:

• Long-haul freight
• Over-the-road (OTR) dry van and reefer
• Fleet and owner-operator operations
• Team driving and high-mileage applications

With its large sleeper cab and integrated aerodynamic fairings, the 387 was a favorite among drivers who logged long hours on interstate routes.

  • Raised roof sleeper
  • Mid-roof sleeper
• Shares cab structure with the Kenworth T2000 and later Peterbilt 587

Aftermarket Seat Compatibility

Because of its wide-body cab, the Peterbilt 387 requires attention to seat width and bolt pattern.
The seat bolt pattern is the standard wide-cab pattern: 4.68" x 12" (standard pattern, not vocational offset)

Most aftermarket seats will bolt in directly.

Note: While the bolt pattern is compatible, some seats may require a spacer or adaptor to align with electronics or air line routing, especially if the original seat had integrated sensors or power functions.

Installation Notes

• No adaptor typically required
• Watch clearance in mid-roof sleepers for taller seats
• Be mindful of any factory wiring or sensors on ISRI/OEM seats
• The 2.1m cab allows for wider seat cushions (22"+ is fine)
