The Peterbilt 379 is one of the most iconic Class 8 conventional trucks ever built. Manufactured from 1987 to 2007, it was the flagship long-hood model known for its classic styling, customization potential, and durability. The 379 remains a favorite among owner-operators, custom truck builders, and vocational fleets.

The Peterbilt 379 has been used in a wide range of applications, including:

Its extra-long nose and robust chassis make it a favorite for both heavy-duty work and high-end customization.

  • Day cab
  • Unibilt flat top sleeper
  • Unibilt mid-roof and high-roof sleepers
• Shares the same cab structure with the 378, 377, 375, and 385 (narrow-body models)

Aftermarket Seat Compatibility

The Peterbilt 379 uses the standard vocational bolt pattern:

This pattern is compatible with nearly all major aftermarket seats without requiring an adaptor plate.

Installation Notes

• No adaptor needed for direct seat replacement
• Note: Knoedler has released an adaptor plate (RR12-PB-000)that allows the occupant to move the seat back in  3, 4, 5 inch increments.  This is a common request that can also be met with plates from Truck Armor or Iowa Customs.
• Unibilt sleepers offer better seat slide and height flexibility compared to earlier rigid-mounted sleepers
• Check for floor risers or insulation that may affect seat height in custom 379 builds
