The Peterbilt 377 is a Class 8 aerodynamic conventional truck, introduced in the late 1980s and produced into the early 2000s. It was designed for long-haul and regional freight, offering improved fuel economy over classic square-nose models like the 379. The 377 was a popular fleet and owner-operator truck due to its balance of aerodynamics, durability, and comfort.

The 377 was commonly used for:

  • Long-haul trucking
  • Reefer and dry van freight
  • Regional distribution
  • Fuel-efficient fleet operations
  • Flatbed and tanker hauling

Its aerodynamic shape and sleeper options made it a go-to for fleets looking to reduce drag without giving up classic Peterbilt reliability.

Cab Type

  • Cab Style: Aerodynamic conventional
  • Cab Width: Approximately 1.9 meters (narrow cab)
  • Available as day cab, flat top sleeper, and raised roof sleeper
  • Shared cab structure with the 375, 376, and early 385

Aftermarket Seat Compatibility

The Peterbilt 377 uses the standard vocational/narrow-body bolt pattern: 4.68" x 12"

This means most aftermarket seats will bolt in directly with no adaptor required.

Installation Notes

  • No adaptor plate needed for standard seat installs
  • Headroom varies by sleeper size—raised roof = more flexibility, flat top = lower seat recommended
  • Some older 377s may have custom risers or base brackets—verify and remove if needed
