The Peterbilt 376 is a Class 8 aerodynamic conventional truck, produced during the late 1980s and 1990s. It was designed as a more fuel-efficient, lightweight sibling to the 377 and was primarily used in regional and long-haul applications. The 376 shared its aerodynamic hood and design elements with the Peterbilt 377 but had a narrower cab and fewer sleeper options.

The 376 was used primarily for:

  • Regional hauling
  • Linehaul and dry van freight
  • Reefer (temperature-controlled) transport
  • Fuel-efficient fleet operations

Its sloped hood and aerodynamic features helped improve fuel economy, making it ideal for fleets that ran lighter loads or shorter over-the-road routes.

Cab Type

  • Cab Style: Conventional aerodynamic cab
  • Cab Width: Approximately 1.9 meters (narrow cab)
  • Available in day cab and limited sleeper configurations
  • Shares much of its cab structure with the Peterbilt 375 and 357

Aftermarket Seat Compatibility

The Peterbilt 376 uses the standard vocational/narrow cab bolt pattern4.68" x 12"

This makes it compatible with a wide range of aftermarket seats without needing an adaptor plate.

Installation Notes

  • No adaptor required for most standard air ride or mechanical seats
  • Watch for low headroom or raised floors in older cabs—low-profile suspension seats are best
  • Trucks with center consoles, heater boxes, or PTO controls may limit seat width
